Connect HubSpot to Save to Sell
Bring your HubSpot contacts into your Sales Tracker as leads. Every follow up you log on them goes back to the same HubSpot contact as a note, or as a logged call for a call step.
Works on every Save to Sell plan, Free included, and with every HubSpot account, free HubSpot CRM included.
Who it's for
- B2B sales reps who keep contacts in HubSpot. Each contact you bring in gets a follow up plan, with the people due today at the top.
- Reps whose company wants activity logged in HubSpot. You log a follow up once in Save to Sell, and it lands on the HubSpot contact.
- Sales managers who read activity in HubSpot. Each rep connects their own HubSpot user, and their notes and calls show on the contacts they work.
What you need
- A Save to Sell account on any plan. Free works. Start free if you don't have one.
- A HubSpot account on any plan. Free HubSpot CRM works.
- A HubSpot user who can install apps. HubSpot lets Super Admins and users with the App Marketplace access permission install an app. If you don't have it, ask your HubSpot admin.
- Contacts assigned to you. Save to Sell brings in the contacts where you are the Contact owner in HubSpot.
- A web browser on a computer or phone. On the iPhone app, connect once at app.savetosell.app in Safari, and it works in the app after that.
Connect HubSpot
It takes about two minutes. Save to Sell never sees your HubSpot password: you sign in on HubSpot's own page.
- 1Sign in to Save to SellOpen app.savetosell.app in your browser and sign in.
- 2Open IntegrationsOpen the menu and choose Integrations. On a computer it's in the left column, and it's also in Settings.
- 3Click Connect HubSpotOn the HubSpot card, click Connect HubSpot.
- 4Sign in to HubSpotHubSpot opens its own page. Sign in if it asks, and pick the HubSpot account to connect if you have more than one.
- 5Allow the connectionCheck the four permissions Save to Sell asks for and click Connect app. If HubSpot asks you to confirm, check that the app name is Save to Sell and follow its prompt.
- 6Back in Save to SellYou land back on Integrations, and the HubSpot card says Connected with the HubSpot user you connected.
Start each connection from Connect HubSpot in Save to Sell, and finish it in the same browser within 30 minutes.
The four permissions Save to Sell asks for
HubSpot lists these on its Connect app page. Each one has a single job.
Basic connection
oauth
Lets you connect through HubSpot's own sign in and Connect app page, so you never type a HubSpot password into Save to Sell.
View contacts
crm.objects.contacts.read
Reads the contacts you choose to bring in: name, job title, company, email, phone, address, website and next activity date.
Edit contacts
crm.objects.contacts.write
Adds a note or a logged call to a contact when you log a follow up on that lead. Save to Sell uses it for nothing else.
View owners
crm.objects.owners.read
Finds which HubSpot owner you are, so the contacts assigned to you are the ones that come in. If HubSpot can't match you to an owner, Save to Sell lists every contact in the account instead.
Bring your HubSpot contacts in
- On Integrations, click Bring in my HubSpot leads.
- Save to Sell looks in HubSpot and lists up to 500 of your contacts, the most recently updated first. Anyone already in your Sales Tracker is marked.
- Search by name, company or email, and tick the people you want. Select shown ticks everyone in the list.
- Click the Bring in button. New people become leads, and anyone already in your Sales Tracker gets tied to their HubSpot contact with their details left as they are.
Your plan's lead limit still applies: 250 leads on Free and 1,000 on Pro. The preview tells you how many new leads fit before anything is saved.
What comes in from HubSpot
| In Save to Sell | From the HubSpot contact |
|---|---|
| Name | First name and Last name |
| Title | Job title |
| Company | Company name |
| Phone | Phone number |
| Address | Street address, City, State/Region and Postal code |
| Website | Website URL |
| Next follow up | Next activity date |
Each new lead starts as New, with a note that says the day it came from HubSpot. Contacts with no name and no company are skipped. People you add in HubSpot later come in the next time you click Bring in my HubSpot leads.
What goes back to HubSpot
Each time you log a follow up on a lead that came from HubSpot, Save to Sell adds it to that HubSpot contact right after you save it.
- A call step goes back as a logged call. Any step with call, phone, ring, dial or voicemail in its name becomes a completed, outbound call on the contact, titled with the step name. Save to Sell never places the call.
- Every other step goes back as a note. An email, a LinkedIn connect, a letter or a drop by becomes a note on the contact.
The note or call carries the time you logged it, the step and your note, like this:
From Save to Sell: Email 2. Sent the spring maintenance schedule and asked about a walk through on Tuesday.
If HubSpot turns a follow up away, Save to Sell tells you, and the follow up stays saved in your Sales Tracker.
What Save to Sell leaves alone in HubSpot
- It never edits or deletes a HubSpot contact.
- It never reads or changes deals, tickets, tasks or emails.
- It never sends an email or places a call for you.
- Edits you make in HubSpot to someone already in your Sales Tracker stay in HubSpot. The lead in Save to Sell keeps its own details.
Disconnect HubSpot
- In Save to Sell, open Integrations.
- On the HubSpot card, click Disconnect.
- Click Tap again to disconnect to confirm.
What happens to your data
- Save to Sell deletes its saved HubSpot keys and the ties between your leads and HubSpot contacts, and asks HubSpot to cancel its access.
- Your leads, notes and follow ups stay in Save to Sell.
- Notes and calls already on your HubSpot contacts stay in HubSpot.
- New follow ups stop going to HubSpot. To start again, connect HubSpot and bring your contacts in. Leads already in your Sales Tracker get tied again without being copied twice.
Uninstall Save to Sell from HubSpot
A HubSpot admin can remove the app from the whole HubSpot account.
- In HubSpot, click the settings icon in the top bar.
- In the left menu, go to Integrations, then Connected Apps.
- On Save to Sell, click Actions, then Uninstall.
- Type uninstall in the box and click Uninstall.
HubSpot ends Save to Sell's access for that HubSpot account. The next time Save to Sell tries to reach HubSpot, it deletes its saved keys and asks you to connect again. Your leads stay in Save to Sell, and your notes and calls stay in HubSpot.
Your data
- Your HubSpot keys are stored encrypted, and only Save to Sell's server can read them.
- We never sell your leads, and we never use them to train AI.
- Deleting your Save to Sell account in Settings deletes your leads and the HubSpot keys Save to Sell kept.

Troubleshooting
HubSpot says I can't install apps
HubSpot lets only Super Admins and users with the App Marketplace access permission install an app. Ask your HubSpot admin for that permission, then click Connect HubSpot again.
Save to Sell says HubSpot was not connected
That shows when Cancel is clicked on HubSpot's page. Click Connect HubSpot again and click Connect app on HubSpot's page.
It says the connection took too long or opened in another browser
Start again from Connect HubSpot in Save to Sell, and finish in the same browser within 30 minutes. An old HubSpot link from your history can't finish the connection.
The preview finds no contacts, or fewer than I expected
Save to Sell brings in the contacts where you are the Contact owner in HubSpot. Assign the contacts to yourself in HubSpot, then click Bring in my HubSpot leads again. Contacts with no name and no company are skipped, and each bring in reads up to 500 contacts.
Only some of the people I picked came in
Your plan's lead limit was reached. Free holds 250 leads and Pro holds 1,000. The preview tells you how many new leads fit before you bring them in.
A follow up didn't show up in HubSpot
Only leads that came from HubSpot, or that were tied to a HubSpot contact during a bring in, send follow ups back. When HubSpot turns one away, Save to Sell shows a message a few seconds after you save, and the follow up stays saved in your Sales Tracker.
It says HubSpot signed you out
HubSpot ended the connection, for example after the app was uninstalled in HubSpot. Click Connect HubSpot on Integrations to connect again.
It says HubSpot didn't allow that
Your HubSpot user doesn't have permission to view or edit those contacts. Ask your HubSpot admin for contact access, then try again.
Can I connect from the iPhone app?
Connect once at app.savetosell.app in Safari or on a computer. After that, HubSpot works in the iPhone app too.
Need a hand?
Email support@savetosell.app with what you clicked and the message you saw. Never send a password, a sign in code or a HubSpot key.
